Visa Gift Cards
Safer than cash and convenient to use, gift cards are prepaid and can be used anywhere in the United States and US territories where Visa is accepted.
Register your card, view terms and conditions, check your balance, or view transaction history online. It’s easy and convenient at www.myprepaidbalance.com.
Lost or Stolen Visa Gift Card? You can request a replacement card for a fee of $5.00 by calling the Customer Service number at 866.496.6183. This number is also located on the back of the card. In order to receive a replacement, you will need the 16 digit number located on the front of your Visa Gift Card. We recommend keeping a copy of the card in a safe place so the number is available to you if needed.
A monthly maintenance fee of $2.95 will be assessed after 12 consecutive months of inactivity. Other fees may apply.

Credit cards with local servicing. American State Bank credit card service offers several cards with a range of benefits. Must be within local lending area and a current customer.

Safe Deposit Box
A safe deposit box is a convenient and safe place to store important items that would be difficult or impossible to replace. A safe deposit box offers privacy and security. Although many people keep valuables at home in either a closet or home office, a safe deposit box may provide more resistance to fire and theft.
American State Bank has several safe deposit box sizes available to keep your items safe.
Contents of safe deposit boxes are not FDIC insured.
Wire Services
American State Bank offers both domestic and international wire transfers.
Domestic wires require the following information:
- Beneficiary’s bank ABA/routing number
- Account number and name on the account
International wires require the following information:
- A SWIFT code for the beneficiary bank and any other bank information available
- The account number for the beneficiary
Additionally, many countries require an IBAN (international bank account number). Mexico requires a CLAVE number. This information must be obtained before requesting the wire transfer.
To request a wire transfer, you can speak to a customer service representative either in person or by phone at any of our locations.

Savings Bonds

Important changes took place as of January 1, 2012. All new savings bonds are now issued online directly from the U.S. Treasury. “This action supports the Treasury’s goal to increase the number of electronic transactions with citizens and businesses.”
EE Bonds are reliable, low-risk government-backed savings products that you can use toward financing education, supplemental retirement income, birthday and graduation gifts, and other special events.
- Series EE Bonds purchased on or after May 1, 2005, earn a fixed rate of return, letting you know what the bonds are worth at all times. See our press release for more information.
- EE Bonds purchased between May 1997 and April 30, 2005, are based on 5-year Treasury security yields and earn a variable market-based rate of return.
*E Bonds are the predecessor to EE Bonds and are no longer issued by the U.S. Treasury.
